Prof. Gurwinder Singh

Myself Gurwinder Singh, presently working as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Law, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, INDIA. Upon completing a Master’s in law (LL.M.) from the University of Delh, India, I joined the Turku Law Faculty, at Turku University in Finland. The area of research for the doctoral degree was specifically on “Subsidies in International trade- from the WTO perspective.” My area of expertise is WTO Law.  I am teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Presently, I am teaching Maritime Law, Comparative Law, Environmental Law, Private International Law & the WTO Law.  In the year 2024, I organised an International  Law Conference on the theme “ Role of International Institutions in Resolving Contemporary Issues.”

Apart from my focus on teaching, I am also engaged in the administrative work of the Faculty, such as coordinating the committees on Current Law Forum, SWYAM Online teaching courses, and serving as a member of several committees. Additionally, as a matter of academic research, I have made several national and International publications.
