Prof. Ali Osman KARAOĞLU

Ali Osman Karaoğlu graduated from the Faculty of Law at Marmara University in 2008. Between 2008 and 2012, he worked as a lawyer affiliated with the Istanbul Bar Association. In 2013, he obtained a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Law from SOAS, University of London, with his thesis titled "The Western Concept of Universal Human Rights and Its Enemy Islam." In 2019, he completed his PhD in Public Law at Istanbul Şehir University with a thesis titled "The Role of International Law in Protection of Foreign Investments." He was a visiting researcher at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies (IALS), University of London, for his master's thesis research, and at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law for his doctoral thesis research. Moreover, after his doctorate, he worked as a visiting scholar and researcher at Georgetown University & International Law Institute. He is currently a faculty member at Yalova University, Law School, Department of International Law.
