Prof. Alejandro Sánchez Frías

Dr. Alejandro Sánchez Frías is Associate Professor of Public International Law and EU Law and Senior Researcher at the EUSECRAL Jean Monnet Centre of the University of Málaga. He has been visiting fellow at the Max Planck Institutes of Heidelberg and Luxembourg, the Institute for European Integration of Hamburg, the Centre of Excellence for International Courts of Copenhagen, the Center for European Law of the Université Libre de Bruxelles) and the Centre for Studies and Research of the Hague Academy of International Law. His research interests include, among others, International and EU Sanctions, International Criminal Cooperation, International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law. In the framework of these research fields, he has received several awards given by organizations such as the European Academy of Yuste, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries or the Ibero-American Institute of The Hague. He has published his research in leading international legal journals and is member of the Board of Editors of the Spanish Journal of International Law (REDI). Dr. Sánchez Frías regularly organizes international conferences, including the XXI Conference of the European Society of International Law, “International Law and Conflict: An Enduring Tension?”.
