Onur Başol

Onur Başol holds a Magister Juris from the University of Oxford and is a PhD candidate at Marmara University. He earned his LL.B. from Bilkent University and was called to the Bar in Türkiye. He serves as a Legal Specialist at the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye (CBRT), specialising in AML/CFT compliance, financial regulation, and payments infrastructures. His research addresses the international law framework governing economic and financial relations including economic sanctions and international financial infrastructure. He is the author of two monographs in Turkish on EU sanctions law, and financial crimes in correspondent banking. He has published several articles on international law and financial law. He has previously contributed to academic and policy discussions on compliance, international economic law, and sanctions regimes.
