Sıla Karakoç Göksu

Sıla Karakoç Göksu is a doctoral candidate at the University of Vienna researching investment arbitration law and public international law under the supervision of Prof. August Reinisch, and a Partner at GKS Law & Consultancy in Istanbul.
She holds a Magister Juris with Distinction from the University of Oxford and a Master of Corporate Law with First Class Honours from the University of Cambridge, where she received the Bundy Prize, Magdalane College Prize, and a Jean Monnet Scholarship funded by the European Union. She also holds a dual undergraduate degree in Law and Economics from Bilkent University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude as salutatorian.
Alongside her academic work, Sıla has accumulated broad international legal experience at two international law firms in Istanbul, specialising in shipping, transport, international arbitration, and commercial law. She previously trained at an international arbitration office, serving as arbitral secretary in ICC proceedings and assisting in cases before ICC, ICSID, LCIA, and TRAC tribunals. She has also contributed as a research assistant to leading academic works published by Oxford University Press.
She is a dual-qualified lawyer in London (Solicitor) and Istanbul. She is a native Turkish speaker, fluent in English, and has an upper-intermediate command of French.
