Prof. Mustafa Erkan

With over 25 years of distinguished legal practice, Dr. Mustafa Erkan is an expert in international and domestic arbitration, energy law, and cross-border commercial disputes. He currently serves as a Professor of Private International Law and Foreign Investment Law at Marmara University, where he leads research and teaching in arbitration, energy, and aliens law.
Dr. Erkan seamlessly integrates academic depth with practical expertise. He is a Certified Mediator with the Turkish Ministry of Justice and serves as a Court-Appointed Expert for the Istanbul Commercial Courts. His global influence is reflected in his roles as a National Expert for Council of Europe (CoE) projects and a member of the AIEN (Association for International Energy Negotiators) Education Advisory Board.
A pioneer in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), he is the Coordinator of the Arbitration and Mediation Schools and a founding member of the ENERAP Turkey Chapter. Dr. Erkan is frequently empanelled as an arbitrator by ISTAC, ITOTAM, the Union of Turkish Bar Associations, EDAC, and other leading international institutions. He is a prolific author and a regular speaker at global legal forums, contributing significantly to the evolution of international investment and commercial law.
