Ievgeniia Kopytsia

Dr. Ievgeniia Kopytsia is a law scholar specializing in environmental, climate, and energy law, with a comprehensive focus on international, EU, and Ukrainian legal frameworks. Currently an MSCA4Ukraine fellow, her research addresses the pressing legal challenges related to climate change and achieving net zero targets amid the complexities of the polycrises era.
Ievgeniia also serves as an Associate Professor at Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University. There, she leads the "Sustainable Development and Environmental Law" research centre and coordinates the Europe-Ukraine Energy Transition Hub, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange on energy transition issues.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kopytsia has taught at multiple universities across Ukraine and the EU, sharing her expertise with students and academics alike. She actively advises policymakers and businesses on climate mitigation, adaptation strategies, sustainable development, green recovery, and green transition policies. Her insights are frequently sought at international conferences, seminars, and summer schools, where she contributes to advancing global and regional environmental governance.
