Liliana OBREGÓN TARAZONA

Liliana Obregón is professor of law and director of the LL.M. in
international law at the University of Los Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
She holds a degree in law from the same university, an MA from the
School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins
University (Bologna-Washington), and a doctoral (SJD) degree in law from
Harvard University. Obregón's research focuses on international legal
history and historiography, exploring ideologies of historical
narratives and global and transnational intellectual history. Her
particular interest lies in peripheral histories, colonialism, and
overlooked actors and events of the 19th and 20th centuries in the
Americas and Europe. She examines how historical narratives can have
intended or unintended normative outcomes. Obregón has extensively
published her work in both English and Spanish and has been invited to
present and teach at universities throughout the Americas, Europe, and
Australia.
