Dr. Lyna Maaziz

Lyna Maaziz is Doctor in Law from Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas, where she defended her thesis in 2022 on The Jurisdiction of ad hoc Annex VII Arbitral Tribunals under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea. This research was published as a monograph in 2025 by LGDJ - Lextenso. She is also the co-author, with Pascale Martin-Bidou, of a textbook in Public International Law (lecture notes and course materials), published by Ellipses in 2024.


Her research focuses primarily on international dispute settlement and the law of international courts and tribunals, with a particular focus on arbitral mechanisms. More broadly, her work explores the role of compulsory adjudication in structuring the international legal order and addressing contemporary global challenges. Her research interests are expanding to include Sports arbitration as well as Sports disciplinary mechanisms for settling disputes.


She has teaching experience in Public International Law and International Economic Law at Université Paris-Panthéon-Assas and Galatasaray Üniversitesi, and actively participates in academic conferences in France but also in Lausanne, Switzerland, Istanbul, Türkiye and Rabat, Morocco.
