Dr. Abdurrahman Erol

"Abdurrahman Erol is an Assistant Professor of International Law at Istanbul Medeniyet University. He completed his PhD at Erasmus University Rotterdam, where his research examined asymmetries in the international investment regime through vulnerability theory and state responsiveness. He also holds two LLM degrees from Tilburg University, including a Research Master in Law (with distinction). His research focuses on international investment law, business and human rights, and the role of states in addressing structural inequalities in global economic governance. He has published in leading legal journals and co-authored reports and book chapters on investment arbitration and community impacts. He has presented his work at international conferences and contributed to interdisciplinary and empirical research projects, including fieldwork in Türkiye. He is also a co-founder of the Istanbul Center for International Law and has experience with computational text analysis and socio-legal methods."
