Bilgesu Çayır Erdoğan

Bilgesu Çayır Erdoğan is a doctoral researcher at the University of Portsmouth, specializing in International Criminal Law. She earned her LL.B. from Gazi University Faculty of Law in 2016 and obtained an LL.M. degree from Ankara University Faculty of Law in 2021.
Prior to her doctoral studies, Çayır Erdoğan served as a Research Assistant at Ankara University Faculty of Law for five years, where she focused extensively on Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.
Her current doctoral research examines the "Reconstructing Accountability: International Criminal Law for Private Military Security Companies (PMSC)." Her academic interests lie at the intersection of corporate accountability, non-state armed actors, and international humanitarian law. In addition to her native Turkish, she is proficient in English and has an elementary command of German.
At the Boğaziçi University International Economics Conference, Çayır Erdoğan will be presenting her research on the limitations of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) frameworks, specifically questioning their efficacy as a regulatory method for the criminal oversight of private military and security companies.
